| | Who Is Your Favorite NASCAR Driver/Drivers? | | As a huge fan of the sport I like to find out who other fans like, who is your favorite driver and why? How long have you been following them and watching NASCAR?My favorite driver is jimmie johnson, I know this can cause a big debate but you can like who you like, this is why we live in America. I've been following Jimmie since 2002 and I've been watching NASCAR since around that time as well, I use to see clips when I was younger but never really understood it and was too busy with other things. My second favorite is Brian Vickers, I've been following him since 2003 and followed him all the way to Hendrick and now onto Red Bull.I don't want this post to cause fights since I know sports can and especially NASCAR and who likes and dislikes who, I just want to know who everyone is cheering for each week. | |
| | Who is your favorite NASCAR driver? | | Racecar driving is a sport enjoyed by many. Some like the thrill of participating in the races. Yet others are just as happy to watch. NASCAR is a big part of the racing world. There are many NASCAR fans everywhere. The death of dale earnhardt was very tragic to so many. He was one of my favorite drivers. How do you feel about NASCAR? Who is your favorite nascar driver? | |

| | Should NASCAR drivers have speedometers in the car? | | In response to Sunday's race where Juan Pablo Montoya effectively lost the race that he had won all because of a pit road speeding penalty. To preface this, for those of you that don't know, nascar cars do not have speedometers in them. They only have tachometers that display the engines RPM's. During practice sessions drivers and teams attempt to match up those RMP's with speed to set pit road speed, as well as before the race the pace car will drive at pit road speed so all of the drivers can get an RPM reading for what pit road speed is. One of the problems is weekend to weekend, when you change your gear set up for the different tracks the RPM association to pit road speed is going to change drastically, not to mention some tracks have 55mph pit road speeds and some as slow as 25-35. Some teams have attempted to place lights on the dash that remain green as long as the driver is within the limit for speeding on pit road. Juan Montoya is one such driver, yet he claims that all his lights stayed green and was not speeding. The NASCAR electronic timing elements say different. Obviously one problem may be that as the race wears on and the... | |
| | Nascar | | Personally my favorite Nascar driver is tony stewart because ummm i don't really know why i think hes just good:)...
So mylotters if your interested in Nascar who's your favorite driver ... and whywithin the limit for speeding on pit road. Juan Montoya is one such driver, yet he claims that all his lights stayed green and was not speeding. The NASCAR electronic timing elements say different. Obviously one problem may be that as the race wears on and the engine runs hotter and is used up, it may have to run at a different RPM level for the same speed which would throw off a drivers judgment. Is this his fault if he believes he is doing everything right? The second thing is, NASCAR allows a driver to go 5 miles over the speed limit without getting a penalty. But 5.01 miles over and you have to make a second trip to pit road under green (if the penalty was under green) which at many tracks can take you down almost a full lap. So the question arises: Should NASCAR start allowing cars to put Speedometers in them for pit road usage or should there be some other way they can accurately monitor the speeds in the same manner NASCAR does??...

| NASCAR: A sport? | | Well, recently, while at work my husband and I were having an argument (a fun argument!) with one of our co-workers. We were talking about NASCAR - and our love for watching it - when we were bluntly told that "NASCAR is not a sport" this lead to a very long discussion, not only between us three, but also with other co-workers and even some guests, about if NASCAR is a sport or not!For one, there is and always will be: A team.
Without a pit crew, a driver doesn't have much of a chance of winning, now does he/she?That should help get the tires rolling! Feel free to agree, disagree and post what you think on the subject. within the limit for speeding on pit road. | | Oh wow what a great thing Nascar is doing right now | | Our president asked that everyone stop at 3:00 today and say a prayer, to have a moment of quiet to recognise and honor all of the men and women that are or ever have served our country. All cars are stopped, all engines are off. They never do this.. What an awesome thing for a sport to do. We salute you our hero's who have mad it possible for us to live in such a great country. All head are bowed, all eyes are closed everyone remember the men and women who gave so much for us.There is not a sound on a track that is full of over 100,000 people. not a word being said, not a whisper.. what a great thing.
