| What are some good books for 2-3 grade boys? | | My family and I are trying to find some good books to get my younger cousin for Christmas. My aunt told us he's at a 2nd-3rd grade reading level. He really seems to like Power Rangers, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon, so if you know any books relating to those interests that would be especially helpful.Any books suggested need to be available in English. Although, if you know any educational English/Spanish books, we'll take those into consideration as well. All suggestions are appreciated. | |
| | Magic Tree House Books | | Are any of you familiar with the series of books called magic tree house books by Mary Pope Osborne? My little neice is just hooked on them and we have been trying to find some copies really reasonable so she can read over the summer. Her teachers recommended her to read a lot over the summer and since she enjoys these books so much I am going to try and find them for her. Any input you have on these will be greatly appreciated. | |

| Why do people make such stupid offers then insult you for not accepting? | | Earlier today I had someone offer me 20k to dig up my magic tree and sell them the roots. This is a tree I continually cut logs from for my fletching & I paid 150k for the seed. Now he's wanting me to kill it so he can have the roots for 20k! I told him I'd dig it up if he brought me a new seed to replace my tree with & he had the nerve to insult me. I have this kind of thing happen all the time.Do you have similar problems? What makes them think this is right? | |
| | When did you stop reading children book? | | When did you start reading adult books or teen book and stop reading children book? I just thought about this because my sister still loves "Magic Tree House" which she borrows from their school library when she was in Grade 3 and now she is 13 years old and in 2nd year high school in the next school year. It is a series of book about adventure of Jack and Annie. She loves it so much and want to buy a whole set of it (42 books). I said to her, you're old enough to read those kind of books[em]lol[/em] but she said she still like it and want to finish it. How about you, when did you stop reading those kind of books for children?Happy myLotting![em]happy[/em] | |

| What books did you read as a kid? | | How many of you have loved reading since a really young age, and what books did you read as a kid?
My parents were determined to plant the love of reading in me. I remember being four and Mom telling me I had to follow along while she was reading so I could learn to do it myself. By the age of six I was reading books on my own. Some of my favorite books and books series were the Baby Sitter- Little Sister series, the Bailey School Kids Series, Bruce Coville's Unicorn Chronicles (Ironically, I am still waiting for the last book in this series.*sigh*), the Secrets of Droon series, and the magic tree house series. There was also a children's classic that I liked called the Secret Garden. What did you read? | |
| | Magic Tree House Series | | For all you parents of elemenary aged children out there, have you checked out the Magic Tree House Series? My kids are 5 and almost 7, (one girl and one boy) they LOVE this series. I have to say I am pretty impressed my self. Both my children know how to read but they love for me to read the adventures of Jack and Annie to them. They are quite a few books in the series from what I understand. (We are on book 11, Ghost Town at Sundown) These two little kids have a magic tree house full of books and they can point to a picture in any book and wish to go there, and the tree house takes them. My son's favorite was Dinosuars Before Dawn (I think) it's the first in the series. So far we have gone with Jack and Annie to the time of Dinosaurs, Midevil Knights, to the moon, ancient Eygpt and MUCH more. The are very entertaining stories and teach the kids a lot. You should def. check them out. What are your favorite books to read to your kids? | |
