| | Need an affordable suggestion for Graduation Present.... | | Looks like I will not be able to attend my niece's graduation this May.
Since my daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis...my summer will be spent at home with her. So, I have already informed my niece that I will not be able to make it to her graduation.However, I want to send her a nice present. But nothing that is too outrageous.
Her graduation party is a themed Childhood Years...with Hello Kitty, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, etc. I asked her what I could get her and she suggested a gift card. But personally, I do not like giving gift cards. I rather it be something that I know she can use and will enjoy.So, any suggestions?
I thought Hello Kitty sheets, but she might be renting an apartment instead of living in a dorm. So, there is no certainty that she would have a twin sized bed.

| | HELP! Graduation | | I can hardly believe my first born, my baby, my precious little 5 and a half pound at birth, boy is graduating high-school this year.
I home educated him since 1'st grade, then this past school year have sent him out of state to a boarding school.
Now, my question for which I need some helpful incite is this:
What to gift him with for the event!? He has made great accomplishments and I am so very pleased with him.
I need some ideas that are not only appropriate for the occasion but long lasting in sentiment.

| I need graduation gift ideas | | I am usually a great gift giver. I love buying and giving gifts. But this graduation gift is for someone I don't really know. My husband works with her father, we have known her parents for over 15 years. My husband and her father hired on with the same company straight out of college. We bonded as newbies, and we enjoy seeing each other at company holiday parties, etc. But they had kids early and we had our first child two years ago so naturally we haven't sociallized much and as a result we don't really know their kids.
I wonder if the usual graduation gifts are appropriate in this case. What would you recommend? | |

| A Toaster As A Graduation Gift For Her???? | | I was browsing around on Kmart.com and found the most interesting thing. Under "Graduation Gifts For Her," I found three toasters and a mini size refrigerator. I was totally shocked. How many women would be offended if they recieved these kind of gifts for graduation. I am confident that the men on Mylot would know better than to purchase such gifts for the women in their lives, right?For myself, I would prefer jewelry or something personal like that. But please do not give me a household appliance for a gift. I would not even want a household appliance on mothers day. These are days to make me feel special. Not days to contribute to the needs of the household. What do you guys think?
