exercise balls Discussions
| Everyone should have a workplace like this. | | Google's HQ otherwise known as Googleplex is situated in MOuntain View, California in Silicon Valley, USA. Throughout the corridors between the four buildings, there are all sorts of Google memorabilia on display. They even employ guides who specialise in explaining Google's History to people. There are lava lamps everywhere, as well as free coke and candy all over the place. They've also got huge multi-coloured exercise balls everywhere, It's every employees dream come true..
The Casual environment in Google HQ can be demonstrated by the fact that staff members can bring their pets to work and the pets are allowed to wander around the office.
There's a rule at Google that there must be food within 100 feet of every employee.
Its all fun and games in Google HQ.
The place looks like a toyshop than a workspace, and Chocolates are all over the place and the place looks like a supermarket. There's even a laundry room for the staff.
Google staff loves sports. The big guns pften has meeting at the pool table or in the corridors. | |
| | Balance Ball | | I just got one of those huge exercise balls...or balance balls or whatever it is called. What are some really great exercises I can do on it? | |
| | Exercise Balls | | Has anyone lost weight by using one of these balls?? What types of exercises do you do???

| | Do you believe it? Exercise ball instead of a chair? | | I had someone to tell me that I should ditch my computer chair and sit on one of those large exercise balls instead. They told me that if I sat on the ball that I would, without even thinking about it, tighten my abdominals for balance and would trim down. Do you believe this? Wouldn't one's back get tired? Do you know anyone who has actually done/tried this? | |
| | Really need your expertise, or if nothing else, your opinion. | | Let me just say when I tell you my back is messed up, I mean it. Due to a car accident 9 years ago my neck and back have caused me a lot of trouble. I passed on the surgery, and can do no exercise other than walking. Even the back exercises my physical therapist gave me to do cause too much pain. And I can takea lot of pain. So I want some kind of exercise machine. I can do a lot of good walking (although after a mile my back tightens up painfully), but I want to work on the core of my body too. So here are the criteria I need for an exercise machine or equipment. It can put no strain on my back.At all. I've seen some that have like a chair for the back of the person, and the arms do all the pulling up and down.I don't want those exercise balls, sadly they cause me pain too. I know by now you're probably like, get back surgery already! Nope, can't. So has anyone seen any eqipment like this you think would work for me? On TV, in stores? | |
| | Guinea Pigs Should NOT Be Placed in Exercise Balls | | I felt the need to post this warning because I noticed someone posted photos of a guinea pig in an exercise ball on this discussion topic.Guinea pigs have a fragile spine that is not meant to curve in a way to run (or even walk) in an exercise wheel or exercise ball. If you want a pet that does this, I recommend a rat, mouse, or hamster. Guinea pigs aren't big on exercise toys, but they do enjoy at least 7.5 square feet of cage space to run laps in, and maybe even a ramp to climb. But please, no dangerous exercise balls! | |
| | BUTT, I Need To Exercise My Butt! | | Yea man, I really need to exercise my Butt! Got your attention? No kidding! I'm looking at one of those exercise balls. Do any of you have and USE one of those? I really need something fun that will also cushion my bad back. I know that getting some weight off will help with my back. I'm not a skinny fanatic but I just need some toning and to lose about 30 pounds. What I need is something fun that I don't get bored with. I've seen some use those exercise balls as computer chairs. Bounce and Type! Woohooo! What do you think? Would this work my legs and butt while cushioning my back? | |
| | Would you like to use a ball as a chiar? | | Recently, research shows that sitting on erercise balls promotes sitting up straight. And more and more teachers are letting students have a ball instead of sitting on a chair. By replacing chairs with exercise balls, teachers find students' posture and attention impvove. What do you think of? | |
